Purses For Sale

Purses For Sale kind of sounds like winning the lottery to me. When I began buying purses online, I wasn't as interested in the designer handbags as I am now.

So, when I found out how important it is to look for a legitimate dealer when you want to buy a purse for sale online, I was surprised and disgusted. Primarily, I was disappointed to learn that online predators had sunk to cheating people looking for ways to buy their purses online.

And, when you are looking for a legitimate wholesaler of designer handbags it becomes even more difficult to find a designer purse from a reputable business that isn't trying to unload a fake at an original price.

Buying Online Tips For Buying Online Purses

What to look out for when you buy purses for sale online:  Caution is critical

  • A Company that just takes your money and runs - Make sure you check their record or get a referral from a good friend before you send money.
  • A legitimate company that claims to be have authentic designer purses for sale as a wholesaler of authentic designer handbags, but only sells high-quality fake designer knock offs from a foreign trader in a place that hires eight-year-olds and pays them $0.80 a day to make your purse or handbag or wallet.
  • A wholesale list for sale on an auction site - There is an entire business just dealing in these lists and e-books - The majority of which are worthless. A crook can easily and simply create a phony list in a matter of minutes, complete with pictures of 'non-existent' merchandise. Often the 'list' looks thrown together, with spelling and grammar errors that are obvious - watch for that too!
  • Be sure, if you order and buy any purse(es) for sale, that you are using a method of payment that can be disputed - i.e. credit card - if you have a problem. If you send money that can't be returned or disputed then you are just handing a thief a key to your safety deposit box. Since you only have a limited dispute time with most banks - stay on top of your order and don't fail to thoroughly inspect each item in your shipment - IF you get your shipment.

These kinds of 'jump companies,' are usually gone overnight (as soon as they get your cash in their hands), which is why you never get your order.

My grandparents owned a department store in the town I was born in. There is no wholesale business around that only sells one item at a time, so if you find a purse for sale from an online wholesale store that claims that you can order whatever you like - They are lying. There is no wholesaler like that in the real world.

  • Normal wholesale shops have orders that require a minimum purchase of the same item. They also require that you purchase several items at the minimum order level, not just one or 'a few.' That's how they sell, otherwise they are a boutique. Drop shippers are normally the only exception to this rule. Occasionally these wholesale shops make you take lesser items to get the full order of some highly popular item.

Look for Legitimate Wholesalers If You Have A Boutique

If your purses for sale are from a legitimate wholesaler, they will:

  • Be authentic - Authentic bags come with authenticity tags and/or bags and dust covers.
  • Sell wholesale at 50-75% (or sometimes more in an off season) off - so you are able to realize a profit from your sale (especially since you are normally required to buy in bulk).
  • Have NO problem in issuing a money-back guarantee and have it stated in writing or in a certificate form that you can easily check.
  • Not allow any hidden or additional fees with your order - those fees will not exist.
  • Will require you to make a minimum order of the same or a similar item. Some are as low as 5 of the same kind, others require more than 5. But ALL have a minimum order number you must order - none allow only single item orders.
  • Have complete contact information that is easily accessible to you - including address, phone, email, fax, a telephone contact person who you can talk to about your order during regular business hours and days . . .
  • Never makes claims to sell purses wholesale if they cannot really sell them wholesale - Certain designers only sell through their own boutiques, which means that the only way you can get one of their designer handbags is to own a boutique of theirs. Their reputation is critical to their success so they guard it like a bank guards its safe.

Brighton, for instance, has a very strict policy about who handles their merchandise. Boutiques go through a rigid acceptance application that includes a scheduled appointment and visit from a Brighton agent to the store or boutique. So, the only way to get a purse for sale from them is to sell them at your store, otherwise you are getting a knock off. It may be a nice copy, but it is not an original designer purse for sale.

Gucci

  • Since my grandparents sold their store when I was 16-years-old, I have loved a few favorite purses. Some are newer to the market, others have been around for awhile.

Some Gucci History -

Gucci opened their first store in 1921. The first store was a leather goods store opened in Florence by Guccio Gucci. His original designs and bags were crafted after the Tuscan artisans. Every season when they announce their new line, I just can't wait to see it! In the 1930's, Gucci popularized their line of Equestrian bags - absolutely wow - to this day! When times were tough and materials were rationed and limited, or sparse, Gucci made lemonade out of lemons and designed such things as the bamboo bag. His passing in the early 50's, left his Gucci legend to his sons, Algo, Vasco, Ugo and Roldolfo to continue the business. The Gucci business continued to grow and cater to the most famous of celebrities and icons alike - with many Gucci designs decorating Museums and institutes all over the world. Their specialty from their beginnings to now continue to honor the timeless classics that I truly love.

So Pretty

Dolce and Gabbana

Who has primarily created designs in black and geometric. Dolce and Gabbana began when Domino Dolce and Stefano Gabbana formed a partnership in Milan, Italy, in 1985.

Their younger styled line is more relaxed and casual, which is fun when you want something less traditional! I've always been a fan of their designs, but always went for the all black purses for sale in their lines.  Because I got the same purse, but just for less money.

Prada

Founded in Milan, Italy in 1913, by Mario Prada, and created by Mario and his brother, Martino. Originally, Prada began as a leather goods shop, and an importer of handbags and English steamer trunks. So, again, I find their classic lines amazing and beautiful and practical for both women - AND men! They have been in the spotlight for their labor practices, but are working those issues out for the betterment of the people. From Beverly Hills to Moscow, their stores are recognized world-wide. It's the feel, color and style of the leather purses that I love so much about Prada purses!

Fendi

It took me awhile to appreciate these bags because I never really liked the line until recently. My reasons are many, really, but what I like most about them now is that they have designed a more classic look lately that I can really appreciate! Otherwise, I just thought that they were a bunch of overpriced, ugly purses for sale, with loose threads hanging off of them.

Fendi was founded in 1925, by Adele Casagrande, in Rome, Italy. What began as a baguette handbag fur and leather shop evolved into a multinational luxury goods store with stores and offices all over the world. My favorite piece of printed gossip about Fendi is when Naomi Campbell was relieved from her position as Spokesperson for People for the ethical treatment of animals when she wore a fur coat to a Fendi fashion show. I know it's not funny, but if you grew up on a farm, it sure is.

Juicy Couture

  • OK, I saved my favorite for last:

Juicy Couture - Hobo -

Juicy is newest to the scene of my favorite purse. They were founded in 1994, in Pacoima, Los Angeles, California by Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor, at a time when I was trying to raise a teenager.

Jennifer and I shopped for purses on sale at Nordstrom and we both loved the purses they carried. Since their beginning, Liz Claiborne has taken over ownership of the company to become parent company to juicy Couture.

Whatever mood you are in, you can find a purse for sale from this line that will compliment the style. My favorite is a long handled vacation purse that I got about 8 years ago-put away for vacations only.

Just like me, they (Juicy Couture) are made in the, "Glamorous USA!"

What Are Your Choices!

Whatever your choice, and I didn't even mention my other favorites, like Etro, Marc Jacobs, and Coach, you'll find some great ideas and deals if you use caution and are ready and willing to take the time looking for legitimate dealers!

Truly, the only real problem I have with purses for sale - Choices!

Purses For Sale Comments

I like Fendi and Ferragamo, and I used to like Gucci but now I use mainly Coach and Dooney and Burke.

Thank you for reminding. I enjoyed the hub!!

mwatkins 2 years ago

msorensson - Thank you! I go through phases about every ten years. Now that I'm older, I think I like the younger styles, but really, just think that individuality is important!

kowality 2 years ago

OMG.. where did all these purses come from. I use a Tool Pouch for all my goodies. MWatkins and I should design a Carpenters Purse. How about a "Murse"?

mwatkins 2 years ago

HI Kowality - Murses are cool, but there are some neat manbags out there too. I'm posting a few on one of my sites and hope you'll take a peek. There are also some neat bags for men out now with a broader shoulder strap and they are called seat belt bags. I don't think they would ever wear out! Where did I find them? In my closet, but I found these in particular at Designer handbags and Amazon. I've never been ripped off by a purse for sale scammer, but I do have friends who were, so you have to be careful who you buy from. I have some hints in the hub on what to look out for, so I hope people pay attention to that if they order a purse from anyone-anywhere! ;-) BTW-Thanks! ;-) If you want to see the manpurse - check out my site at

What's good about most designer bags is how well made they are - which means when my daughter gives me her 'old' bags they're still like new!

ladyjane1 2 years ago

I love purses but will not spend an arm and a leg just to let someone know I bought a name brand. Target purses are just fine with me. But I enjoyed your hub.

Lady_E 2 years ago

Thanks for this useful info. Sometimes, I think people unknowingly buy fake designer bags.

Oooh, so many lovely bags in this Hub - especially that pink, satin looking, Juicy Couture. As we say in the UK, "Ding Dong!". lol

I enjoyed reading the Hub.

Nellieanna 2 years ago

Oh my! What an article! I agree about the name-brands, though good styling AND good quality are my watchwords and at times the two are synonymous with the name brand bags.

But if a measure of quantity, quality and mostly styling are desired rather than intensive long-term use and appearance which comes with a grade of quality that lasts and lasts, it doesn't matter so much. Makes sense to invest less and have more variety with styling which can be found, with careful discernment at many discount houses and chain stores.

In fact, I've been known to carry the freebie bags Estee Lauder gives as incentives to buy their products, even though I own a huge collectdion of really good purses from my earlier working days in a rather glamourous position. They include a Judith Leiber, a Botega, A Ferragamo, several Falchi snakeskin bags in many colors to go with the clothes I wore then, Liz Claibornes, and lesser designers to fill in all the colors and stylings I then had need of, but even so,they were all good leather or, in the case of one of the evening bags - fine tapestry. Such a waste! But the costs then, while they seemed high were not as mind-boggling as the same would be now. Some bags cost more than computers, furniture or even cars! haha.

But all that was important to me at the time. Now I have different standards for my bags (purses)

More recently, after finding one EL freebie bag I liked so much I used it all the time till the faux leather veneer began to peel from the corners, I set out on a search for a good one with some of the same features & appearance.

I now carry only the one I found which far exceeds the freebies' looks and feathers. I use it for 99% of my treks out from the house!

I'm fascinated with the choices on the market! LOL. Some of the expensive designer bags now really are easily copied by the discount chain stores, in fact!

When shopping for my one favorite, I came close enough to a Juicy Couture bag to order it sent out, but decided it was a bit too ornate for my use and returned it, unused.

I must confess I love Juicy Couture stuff. There's a whole JC store at my favorite mall (where I go as seldom as I can!)

The bag I found which suited is a large silvery-taupe leather Cole Haan with silver hardware and a matching billfold. People carrying Coach bags stop me to ask where i found it!

It's really nice looking with perfect compartments for everything from cellphone to papers to keys. Ample zippered compartments of various sizes, but not too many to keep up with, as well as a couple of areas open at the top so even large things can "stick out" until one gets to the destination where those things are needed, such as atttorney's office. bank or the post offie to mail oversied things. Though large, everything is easily reached & it "goes with" everything.

The only times now I choose a different bag are evening and formal occasions, the opera, ceremonial occasions, all of which there are precious few these days!;)

On the other hand, I used to change my bag every time I changed my clothes to go anywhere. I had shoes and bags to fit the colors & occasions.

I think back and am amazed at that use of precious time, money and effort!

Lady - I truly enjoyed this hub and your amazing display of fashionable bags! It was like great window-shopping! Whoo hoo!

mwatkins 2 years ago

Sheila B - you are soooooooooooo lucky to get your daughters designer handbags! I was always the one handing them down! Thanks!

mwatkins 2 years ago

Hi Ladyjane1 - I really don't blame you for not wanting to spend an arm and a leg for a purse just because it has a designers label on it - I won''t buy Nike for the same reason. But the way I figure it is that my bags last 10+ years, so if I spend $500.00 on one, that's approximately $50. a year or $4.17 per month for one of those purses and if they last longer than 10 years then the cost goes down. I just love the classic looks and the fact that I know that if I spend the money on a more expensive bag, it will last (not only in style, but in quality craftsmanship and materials) for at least ten years, and probably longer and then I pass it on to a niece or girlfriend and they keep it for anywhere from 5-15 years beyond that which makes the cost go down even more ;-) So, to invest in a less expensive bag that may last a year or two seems more expensive to me than the designer bags.

mwatkins 2 years ago

Lady_E - yes, you are right - some people do knowingly buy fake designer bags - some are REALLY GOOD fakes, too! LOL - I loved the pink Juicy bag too - very fun! It's called the Juicy Couture Janet Shoulder Bag (nylon shoulder bag) and it is darn near impossible to find right now, because it is out of stock, but there is a satchel style leather hobo bag that comes close.I'm going to hold out for the Janet bag, though - because, like you said - "Ding Dong!" ;-)

HI Nellianna - You are the most entertaining and prolific writer I have come across in a long time! I enjoy reading your hubs and comments from start to finish! Thank you for adding such beautiful insight to my hub on Purses For Sale! There are some beautiful designer handbags, purses and wallets available and if you are concerned with cost and don't have time to do a lot of comparing then, I would encourage anyone to shop the sales for the only reason that they will last for years. I used to have everything matching - purse, shoes, wallet, jewelry, but don't care so much anymore. I do have a couple knock offs in my closet, but I don't use them. In that way, they were a waste of money for me. I adore your favorites! Thanks again! My fav freebie is a black Samuel Dong tote with zipper closure, silver grommets, inside compartment and matching coin purse!

katiem2 2 years ago

WOW I feel like a kid in a candy store. A girl can't have to many purses. Thanks and Peace:)

mwatkins 2 years ago

haha - Thanks Katiem2! you are right - and they must match too! i find the older I get the less I need so that leaves me perfectly content with th collection I have - until my next purse!

stars439 2 years ago

A very thoughtful thing to do to put other women, girls, or ladies wise to the goings on in this particular market. God Bless you.

mwatkins 2 years ago

And bless you, stars 439 - Thank you! There's too much taking advantage of other people out there. I hope this helps people who would not have thought of this and believed blindly in a slick sale!

baggz 24 months ago

Yeah, yeah, count me for one them murses kowality was talkin about heheh ....manbag well ah eh er ah um ; )

mwatkins 24 months ago

LOL - Kowality isn't fooling me for one second! I'll bet he has at least one - and maybe - two - man bags! But if you combined a carpenters bag and a purse is it called a "curse"? ;-) Great to see you here, baggz - thanks!
