Presents For Him - Did you think that Presents for him could be so . . Well . . . so Naughty, . . . and so Romantic!

I know that the holidays and special gift times are fast approaching. That means that our busy lives are about to get even busier. So, I wanted to take this time to explore my options and thought I would share what I discovered here with you.

When you are deciding on presents for him, you could also be thinking of a romantic gift for yourself. If you are then you'll be glad to know that whether it's anniversary gifts for men, birthday gifts for him, or just no reason presents for him, try this! I'm not saving this for Valentines Day. I'm planning for it during the Christmas season when we can share some private time and some romance!

- Sensual is IN! That means you might want to send him on a scavenger hunt ending with a rose petal strewn path to somewhere completely romantic! Start him out with an empty gift basket and have him pack his romantic gift basket along the way with tips left in the form of "clues" from you! Depending on your ultimate destination be sure to have him begin his hunt with a gift basket that symbolizes something very special - Yet to come! Ribbons and bows in bright reds tied to your gift basket work great for this.

Hopefully you can see the benefits in giving him this type of basket to start out with instead of a drab, boring basket that gives him no inspiration for the (sexy) plans you have for him! For the last clue-leave it on the bedroom pillow of a cleanly made bed. This gift basket idea works for both men AND women.

Romantic gift Idea-Add A Love Letter

- Write a love letter to go with your gift basket. If you don't know how to write a love letter here are some useful tips:

1) Use special stationery to write or print your love letter onto.

"Sometimes your nearness takes my breath away; and all the things I want to say can find no voice. Then, in silence, I can only hope my eyes will speak my heart."

- Robert Sexton

2) Write your letter in uninterrupted solitude with romantic music paying to help you feel romantically inspired.

"For every beauty there is an eye somewhere to see it. For every truth there is an ear somewhere to hear it. For every love there is a heart somewhere to receive it."

- Ivan Panin

3) Since your letter is one that will likely be kept as a special memento make sure you put a date on it.

"If I had a flower for every time I thought of you, I could walk in my garden forever".

- Alfred Lord Tennyson

4) Try to be sentimental with your greeting (Dear . . . ) and not "stiff." Do you have a special name you call each other? Use it. I know this sounds about as unromantic as it can get, but if my honey wrote me a letter and it started with, "To my Honey bologna head . . . " I would love that because that's what we call each other sometimes - in loving tones, of course!

"Love is like the wind, you can't see it but you can feel it all over"

- Meredith

5) Begin by explaining to your love why you are writing them the letter at all - Are you writing because of a special day or holiday or birth or passing of a beloved pet, friend or relative? Then say so. If you feel shy about expressing romantic feelings or loving feelings then you must not let it show by writing about how maybe the person receiving your letter doesn't feel the same about you.

Unless you are the stalker from hell, assume that their feelings for you are as genuine as yours are for them and keep any insecurity out of your letter.

Make a draft before you write the letter so you can re-read it and edit anything that sounds awkward, too formal or anything that introduces any negativity, neediness, or insecurity out of it. For example if you say things like, "You probably don't want to read a love letter from me . . . ." or any rendition of that sentence fragment, then you'll want to revise it or delete altogether and do a re-write.

"I want to be your favorite hello and your hardest goodbye."

Romantic Gift Ideas - It's OK To Be A Little 'Cheesy"

6) Include the moment you knew you were in love with your love letter recipient. How that person makes your life better. How you miss them when they are away - not away like gone to work, but gone for a period of time. How your life feels with them in it - as opposed to when they weren't. Reminders of the things you feel that you have in common, how good you feel with them, what they add to the completeness of your life, special times you shared together and the significance those times have or had for you. Include special things about the person that make them different from others you have known. Mention times when that person especially stood out for you in something they did, an event you attended together, a special comment they made or gesture they made that sticks out in your mind.

"Your voice makes me tremble inside
And your smile is an invitation
For my imagination to go wild."

  • Caution - Avoid describing sexually explicit information because it will only cheapen your love letter and teeters on the side of disrespectful by most standards. Poetry is a great substitute if you can't seem to find the words. You can intermingle poetry with your words. And PLEASE don't include his office as a place to leave any sexy clues lying around. You may get him fired. The workplace is no place to share your intimate secrets with!

7) Give your ending a meaningful theme - Just signing your name is kind of a letdown to a really great love letter. Tie it into your letter with poetry or scripture, or verse or a quote, but don't just end your letter by signing your name. My husband writes me a letter every year on Valentine's Day and he ends it by writing above his signature, " You are the one who helps me remember that I am young." Yes, I love that man!

"If I know what love is, it is because of you."

- Herman Hesse

"Men always want to be a woman's first love. Women have a more subtle instinct: What they like is to be a man's last romance."

- Oscar Wilde.

A Romantic Gift For Him Includes Special Touches

  • If you can also have in your Romantic Gift For Him a pressed flower that you saved from one of your outings, a love letter is the perfect place to put it.
  • No drips or stains on your love letter - Clean and neat is important. If you have poor penmanship, consider having a friend write out your final version for you, or write it on the computer and print it out.
  • Either send in the mail or hand deliver - For hand delivery, have Kleenex available for any teary expressions of gratitude. For mail delivery, take the extra step of getting a special stamp that is fitting for a love letter and please avoid writing hearts all over the envelope. It makes you look juvenile and takes away from your credibility or heartfelt message.

"I ran up the door, opened the stairs,
said my pajamas and put on my prayers -
turned off my bed, tumbled into my light,
and all because he kissed me good-night!"

hi habee - Thank you for stopping by! Yes, it definitely is worth taking yourself out of a comfort zone once in awhile. My nephew tell me he used it for his wife for their 10th anniversary and that it was a huge hit! He dressed up like a flower delivery person and pulled his hoody over his head so he wouldn't be recognized and dropped off her bouquet of flowers and a love letter with the 10 most important reasons why he loved his wife - at her office, just before she left to go home. I only got to see the picture of her getting the bouquet - That was enough! But she looked so thoroughly happy and in love that I was moved by the thoughtfulness of his gesture. They are blessed with three children so opportunity for romance has been shoved aside too many times (they both say). thanks again! ;-)

Hi dawnM - Thank you - I couldn't resist the fellas - They deserve equal time! ;-) LOL! I once got my husband a thong and a hat - A rams hat (complete with horns) for the holiday. Once we were alone on Christmas Eve he came out of the bathroom all dressed up for me in hat and 'briefs' and I laughed so hard that tears came out of my eyes. Although the moment was NOT lost, it was slightly compromised (for a couple of knee slapping moments as he danced a jig) with laughter, but it became a memory that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Thanks again! These are the times of our lives - Right now! Enjoy them while you can!
