And what a relief that is! There was a time not so long ago when the only options to ladies in this size were ugly beige, white, and an occasional black bra. The styles were perfectly suited for those women over 80 years old, complete with wide, 4-prong closures and heavy, 'durable' straps. I guess anyone under 80 would have been considered an explosion risk so the industry only made things that would have absolutely no chance of exposing any sightings out of those big, bad boy mammories.

Well, I was one of 'those' girls myself , but thanks to the increase in the fascination with bigger breasts, came a whole world of beautifully designed and pretty lingerie. For those gals who desperately wished for a wider selection, this was a welcome sign in any ddd bra section of the bra store!

When all the other girls were getting training bras, I was initiated into a 32 C cup. Having grown up in an active and athletic environment, I found this to be more of an inconvenience than anything and it was a constant complaint from my jealous girlfriends - "You have big boobs." So to diminish the sarcasm and stares, I wore a lot of clothes that minimized my chesty looks.

I was actually mortified that this 'curse' had fallen on me at a time when all I cared about was riding horses, and girl scouts. And having Olive Oil legs only made it worse - There I was from 6th grade all through high school, looking like a stick figure drawing with boobs. 7th grade P.E. was the worst for me. Girls can be cruel with their vicious stares, loud exclamations, pointing and laughing out loud.

At 19, I wore them proudly, but was still desperate for something nicer to wear under my clothes and so I often squeezed myself into smaller, uncomfortable booby traps just to have something pretty to wear. Well, that was miserable.

To this day, I am guilty of having a drawer full of lingerie that gets little to no wear. There are three multi colored corsets, one red bra with a big black bow on the front, one purple bra with black lacy straps and a corset back strap, one pink bra, one green bra, one red bra, at least six lacy black bras and one dark brown bra. Not to mention the bag of garters, bag of garter nylons, bag of elastic thigh high stockings, and the lacy and plain footless stockings.

Because I spent a lifetime trying to hide my dreary, plain bras, I for one, am pleased hugely that sexy lingerie is being worn on the outside. Oh, I don't mean the straps that the back of the shirt has fallen down and the entire backside of a bra is exposed - That's tacky to me. I mean the bevy of colorful straps and strap designs and colors that stick out from tank tops and jazzy shirts or dresses. I mean the prettier bras that look fun.

Instead of standing back and wishing I could find one of those prettily made bra cups, they are now more common in lingerie and finer bra stores.

In the recent past narrow straps meant deep shoulder marks, but pretty lingerie for the ddd bras now means that shoulder straps are slightly wider with the addition of lacey bra accessories and other frilly options. You may not avoid the deep shoulder marks, but you don't have to be limited to anything dreary anymore.

If you are a fellow and you think that your gal has great big boobs because she wears a 36 B - that's just not the case. The truth is she has a wide back with a small cup. Believing that fallacy is like buying an extra large jock strap for a 32" waist.

Ladies, my point is, if you are in this category - or even if you wear a bra - leaving the pretty choices of bra lingerie in your drawer is like putting plastic on the furniture. Take them out of the drawer, and enjoy the view! Life is too short not to!
